DURHAM, N.C. — Quintiles Transnational Corp., the international provider of drug development services headquartered in Durham, learned Saturday that not one of its 2,300 employees in Japan was injured in Friday's earthquake and tsunami, spokesman Phil Bridges said.

Most of the Quintiles personnel in Japan are Japanese citizens. The company has seven locations across the island nation and many sales employees who work independently, Bridges said.

Company leaders have begun working on plans to help with relief efforts or fund raising, but no one from the Durham location has plans to travel to Japan, he said.
