The Poe Center for Health Education will host one of its popular sessions to help parents and kids broach the sometimes tricky topic of puberty together.

The upcoming version of Guy Talk is designed for boys in fifth to eighth grade and their mothers.

Here's a description of the program, courtesy Poe's website:

Guy Talk will equip boys with accurate age-appropriate information developed to help with healthy growth and development. Workshop topics include the changes which happen during puberty, the reproductive systems, proper nutrition and hygiene, and online safety. Hands-on activities and Poe’s 3D theater exhibits make this an interactive and engaging experience. Guy Talk has been specifically designed with activities that foster and encourage open mother-son communication.
It's scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 29, at the center near downtown Raleigh. The cost is $25 for each mother and son pair and $10 for each additional son. More information is on Poe Center's website.

The center also hosts Girl Talk puberty programs for moms and daughters and other Guy Talk sessions for sons and fathers.
