CARY, N.C. — Saturday, people marched down the streets in Cary protesting the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

This is a very sensitive topic for many, but that did not stop people from making their voices heard.

Women, men and children gathered, infuriated by the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Dona Gartrell was at the Cary rally with her daughter and granddaughter fighting for their rights

“Why do you think you can make decisions for somebody else?” Said Gartrell.

Gartrell said it’s an overwhelming feeling.

One far too familiar.

“[I'm] very angry, but I’m from the 60s so I’ve seen a lot," said Gartrell. "Some of the things are things we’ve seen over and over again. Nothing has changed.”

State Senator Wiley Nickel was one of the speakers at the rally, as a father he said it’s a cause that’s too personal

“I have a young daughter and my wife is incredibly concerned about it," said Nickel. "We’ve talked a lot about it and so many other constituents who are frankly very angry ... we can do something about this.”

Many, like Meredith Bullis, worry about what’s to follow.

“The wave next is banning contraception," said Bullis. "So what’s next? Civil rights? Voting rights? Gay marriage?”
