Property Crimes Down; Homicides Up in Durham

— According to new numbers – overall crime is down in Durham – but homicides are not.

The police department presented its third quarter crime report Monday night.

It showed both violence and property crime decreased during the first 9-months of the year.

However, homicides rose 55 percent – from 11 during the first three quarters of last year to 17 this year.
