DURHAM, N.C. — No injuries were reported after a Durham house fire spread to a nearby wooded area and prompted an explosion Sunday afternoon.

Lebanon fire chief Travis Clements said the fire started in the garage of a home at 5704 Wanderlust Drive at about 3:20 p.m. and spread to the rest of the house and the woods.

The fire caused a propane tank in the woods to explode.

Authorities said the home was not a total loss and the residents were able to return once the fire was extinguished.

Clements said authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, but believe it was accidental.
