Smithfield, N.C. — Johnston County officials said Wednesday that they have reached an agreement for the county to take control of Princeton's volunteer rescue squad.
The county took over operations of the Princeton Rescue Squad on July 1, but the two sides couldn't reach a deal over how to divide the volunteer squad's assets and whether to build a new EMS facility.
Princeton EMS has agreed to pay the county $240,000 to for a new EMS facility in town, officials said.
