Power restored to 20,000 people in Wake, Johnston counties

According to outage maps from Duke Energy, over 20,000 customers lost power late Thursday night.

Power was restored Friday to more than 20,000 residents in Wake and Johnston counties after an outage at a substation.

According to Duke Energy, over 10,000 customers lost power Thursday night in Johnston County and over 11,000 lost power in Wake County.

Power was restored to all customers around 1 a.m.

Crews said a power outage at the substation caused the massive outages.
