Power restored after morning wreck

The scene of a Wednesday morning wreck is clear and power restored after a tense morning rush in downtown Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The scene of a Wednesday morning wreck is clear and power restored after a tense morning rush in downtown Raleigh.

According to police, a tractor-trailer hit a utility pole near the intersection of Hoke and Blount streets just after 6 a.m., briefly knocking out power to the area.

Police directed traffic through intersections where traffic signals were out.

By 8:30 a.m., the scene was clear and power had been restored.
