Power restored after Harnett County wreck

A single-vehicle wreck has knocked out power to more than 1,000 Progress Energy customers along the Harnett-Cumberland county line.

ERWIN, N.C. — A single-vehicle wreck knocked out power to nearly 1,400 Progress Energy customers along the Harnett-Cumberland county line Monday morning.

A vehicle hit a power pole in the 6400 block of N.C. Highway 217 in Erwin around 2 a.m., state troopers said.

Utility crews made repairs, and restored service by 7:30 a.m.

At the height of the outage, 1,386 Progress Energy customers lost service.
