Power outage in downtown Raleigh after crash on McDowell Street

Raleigh, N.C. — A vehicle crash on McDowell and W. South Street left nearly 500 without power in downtown Raleigh on Wednesday morning.
The outage impacted stoplights on nearby downtown streets, according to officials, which appeared to cause traffic backups in the area.
By 9:30 a.m., power had been restored to all but 150 customers, according to the Duke Energy outage map.
By 9:40 a.m. the map no longer indicated any outages.
