RALEIGH, N.C. — A new pop-up program aims to help support minority and women entrepreneurs in downtown Raleigh.

OPN on Martin, a partnership between the Downtown Raleigh Alliance and Wake Technical Community College, provides entrepreneurs with a pop-up business location and support, including marketing, financial planning and other business skills. It's designed to increase diversity in the downtown business community.

The first tenant, The Nutty Bavarian, opens its doors at noon on Saturday. The business, owned by Stephanie Williams, sells roasted Bavarian nuts, gift baskets and other snacks. She also has a location inside Crabtree Valley Mall.

"After observing the growth in the downtown area, we knew this was the perfect time to participate in such a venture that would offer exposure and growth for our expanding company," Williams said.

Williams said she hopes this opportunity will show her children that anything is possible.

LM Restaurants, which owns Carolina Ale House, Taverna Agora and Vidrio, is providing the storefront space at 17 E. Martin St.
