Cary, N.C. — A woman stole $10,000 from a Cary restaurant by inflating her tips, police said.
Erika Trigg Denton, 26, of 5613 Maram Court in Raleigh, is charged with obtaining property by false pretense. She was arrested Thursday and released on a $2,500 unsecured bond.
According to an arrest warrant, Denton switched the amounts on receipts for what customers paid for their food at Tasu Asian Bistro with what they left as tips. The alleged theft occurred between Jan. 1 and Feb. 5 and eventually totaled $10,000.
Denton was ordered not to visit Tasu Asian Bistro, at 525 New Waverly Place, or contact any employees there.
