DURHAM, N.C. — Police say a woman is in the hospital Sunday after being shot multiple times.

Around 3:30 a.m., officials responded to the 1000 block of Springdale Drive, where they found a 35-year-old woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Multiple bullet holes were visible in homes along Springdale Drive and a family in the neighborhood said a bullet went through a window into their daughter's bedroom.

Family members said they called 911 after they woke up to see a woman crawling in their yard, asking for help.

"Just a couple of shots we heard, but I just want to make sure all the families here are OK," said neighbor Alexander Jameson.

Neighbors said someone was seen driving down the street shooting and ended up crashing into a car in the area.

The shooting is under investigation, but police say there is no danger to the public.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200.
