Police: Woman drove while impaired with child in car

GARNER, N.C. — A woman was arrested after Garner police say she was speeding while intoxicated with her granddaughter in the car.

Jacqueline Bland Purcell, 63, was charged with driving while impaired and misdemeanor child abuse.

Purcell’s breath alcohol concentration was 0.15, according to an arrest warrant.

It is illegal to drive with a BAC at 0.08 or higher.

The arrest warrant states that Purcell was driving at 63 mph in a 35-mph zone.

Police say Purcell was driving with her granddaughter, who was younger than 16.
