— A teenager attempting to shoplift at a Wal-Mart store fired at other shoppers as they tried to stop him, injuring a man, police said.

Other shoppers told police they saw the 15-year-old shoplifting an item from the Wal-Mart store on Raeford Road around 9 p.m. Friday.

When other shoppers confronted him, the teenager produced a BB gun. He then shot a man, Kenneth Lochner, in the face, police said.
