Police try to ID man in vehicle break-in

Durham police are trying to identify a man who they believe broke into a work van early Aug. 1.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are trying to identify a man who they believe broke into a work van early Aug. 1.

A man stole several tools from the van, which was parked at 4319 Western Park Place, near Hillsborough Road. He fled on a dark-colored mountain bike.

Surveillance photos released Thursday show a thin white man, about 6 feet tall. He was carrying a dark book bag and wore khaki pants and a beige shirt with a palm tree design on it.
