NASHVILLE, N.C. — The Nashville Police Department said teenagers fired shots Friday night during an annual music festival in downtown Nashville.

No one was injured in the shooting, police said.

While police officers were patrolling during the Blooming Festival, a concerned attendee reported to officers that a man wearing a black ski mask was carrying a gun.

The man, 19-year-old Elijah Bynum, was arrested and cited for carrying a concealed weapon. While officers were interviewing Bynum, they heard multiple gun shots near the festival on West Church Street.

Nashville police saw two teens run away from the gunfire and chased after them. The two teens, one armed with a handgun, was caught. His gun was missing five rounds, the Nashville Police Department said.

The other teen was released to his family after police determined he was running away from the gunfire and was not responsible.

The armed teen was in custody as of Friday night. Police said that he was a friend of Bynum's. No other information was released about the teen due to the fact he is a minor.

"The Nashville Police Department would like to make sure that the community is aware this was an isolated incident between individuals known to each other, and that it occurred outside of the festival area after the festival was closed due to weather," the police department wrote in a statement.
