CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police said Thursday they believe a son killed his mother before their two bodies were found by a real estate agent earlier this month.
A real estate agent walked into a home at 442 Demming Road on Oct. 12 and discovered two bodies on the floor of a master bathroom inside the home.

The bodies were later identified as Margaret Montgomery Gibson, 86, and Eric Dana Gibson, 53.

Police said Eric Gibson’s cause of death is still pending autopsy and toxicology results.

According to an online listing, the home where the bodies were found was offered for sale at $650,000. According to neighbors, the house had been on the market for over a year.
