RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are seeking information from the public that would shed light on the final minutes of a man's life, before police say a teen ran him over on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard last week.

Freddie Lane, a 47-year-old father of three, was walking home from his sister's birthday party early on April 10 and was last seen near Cabarrus and Blount streets around 12:30 a.m.

At 2 a.m., his body was found in the roadway near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Chavis Way.

Police want to know what Lane was doing between 12:30 and 2 a.m. that would lead to him lie in the prone position in the roadway. Anyone with information that might assist the investigation is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 919-834-HELP to provide a confidential tip.

Raul Gutierrez-Leja,18, of 1124-C Angelus Drive, was charged with driving while impaired, driving without a license and having an open container of alcohol in a moving vehicle in connection with the wreck.

No other information was released.
