DURHAM, N.C. — Police were searching Monday for a man accused stabbing another man during an argument in a Lombard Avenue house.

Investigators said Sergio Linares Capelo, 46, of 2626 Lombard Ave., and a 46-year-old acquaintance argued over a woman late Sunday. Capelo stabbed the victim in his legs, chest and hands, officers said.

The victim was taken to Duke University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Capelo was last seen driving a dark green, four-door 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse, with state tag number WSJ-4253. Capelo might be in the area of Bacon Road in Rougemont.

Police did not have a picture of the suspect.

Anyone with information on Capelo’s whereabouts was asked to call Investigator J.P. Carnevale at 919-560-4582, ext. 227 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.
