CLAYTON, N.C. — Police were searching Wednesday for two people who robbed a Clayton bank.

Two armed robbers entered the First Citizens Bank branch at 10702 U.S. Highway 70 Business at about 9:30 a.m. and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The robbers were described as black men with light complexions. One was about 5-foot-10 with a stocky build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and armed with a rifle or shotgun. The other was about 6 feet tall with an average build, wearing a camouflage jacket and armed with a handgun. Both were wearing black ski masks.

They were last seen running toward the wooded area to the east of the bank, and police said they believe the men had a vehicle waiting nearby. Police said they wanted to talk to the driver or occupants of a burgundy 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora seen leaving the area shortly after the robbery.
