Police seek information on suspected hit-and-run

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police are investigating a possible hit-and-run that put a Fayetteville man in the hospital.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle might have struck Roosevelt Elsberry, 48, on July 3.

Officers found Elsberry unconscious in the middle of Grady Street near Hamlet Street. He was taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, where he was in critical condition Wednesday.

No other information was immediately available, but police ask anyone who might have information about the case to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1883.
