Wake Forest police are searching for the person responsible for a Thursday afternoon shooting.

WAKE FOREST, N.C. — Wake Forest police are searching for the person responsible for a Thursday afternoon shooting.

Wake Forest police said officers responded to a report of shots fired the 400 block of East Juniper Avenue at about 3:50 p.m.

When they arrived, officers received a call that a man had been admitted to WakeMed with non-life threatening injuries. The man told doctors that he had been shot in Wake Forest, police said.

Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting, but said they do not believe it was a random incident.

A description of the suspect was not immediately available.
