RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police say officers are looking for an assault suspect who managed to get away from officers as they were attempting to place handcuffs on him.

Officers responded to Bonneville Court, off of New Hope Road, on Friday morning.

A woman said she was on a date with the suspect when he assaulted her, officials said. No weapon was used, and the woman was not injured, police said.

The woman gave a description to police, and an officer saw a man believed to be the suspect walking nearby.

The officer put a handcuff on him, but the man was able to run away from the area.

A description of the suspect was not available.
