Police searching for man charged with murder in Fayetteville shooting

A Fayetteville man was charged Wednesday with murder in connection with an April shooting.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man was charged Wednesday with murder in connection with an April shooting.

Officers were called to a home on St. Louis Street just after midnight on April 26 after a person fired shots from the roadway into a home, striking two people.

Demarko McEachern, 20, died as a result of his injuries and Carolyn McEachern, 70, received non-life threatening injuries.

Terrance J. Melvin, 21, was charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle, discharging a weapon into occupied property and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury in connection with the incident.

Melvin was not in custody Wednesday evening and authorities said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
