Man arrested after stabbing at northeast Raleigh home

Police on Wednesday arrested a man accused of stabbing another man at a home in northeast Raleigh on Tuesday night.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police on Wednesday arrested a man accused of stabbing another man at a home in northeast Raleigh on Tuesday night.

Leonard Moore, 47, was arrested before 5 a.m. at the Greyhound Bus Station at 2210 Capital Boulevard and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of a spring-loaded knife.

Around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, officers with the Raleigh Police Department responded to a home in the 5100 block of Wallingford Drive, off N. New Hope Road.

A man was taken to a local hospital with stab wounds, and police surrounded the home after learning the suspect ran inside.

Officers thought the suspect had barricaded himself inside the home, but after they gained entry, the home was empty.

Some neighbors in the area were evacuated as a precaution while police searched for Moore.
