Police search suspected shooter's Mesquite home

Police in Mesquite briefed the press this morning about the man who is suspected of killing dozens and injuring hundreds of people on Sunday night.

LAS VEGAS, NV — Police in Mesquite briefed the press this morning about the man who is suspected of killing dozens and injuring hundreds of people on Sunday night.

It happened during the Route 91 music festival on the famous Las Vegas Strip. Approximately 22,000 people were in attendance when the gunman opened fire from a room on the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay.

When police were finally able to make entry into the hotel room, it was discovered the suspected shooter was dead.

They were able to identify him fairly quickly and determined he had a home in Mesquite.

Police officers from Mesquite and Las Vegas broke into the suspected shooter's home.

They are now searching the home for evidence related to the mass shooting.
