FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are searching for a man who locked a store clerk inside an office during a Monday morning robbery.

Authorities said the man entered the Liberty Gas Station at 120 Rowan Street at about 6:15 a.m. and waited for the other customers to leave before jumping over the counter and demanding money.

The clerk opened the register and the man locked the clerk in an office and threatened to kill her before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man who is bald with a skinny build. Authorities believe he is about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and was last seen wearing a navy and yellow hat, black-and-white T-shirt, white shorts and gray sneakers.
