RALEIGH, N.C. — One person was shot in a Raleigh shopping center parking lot Friday afternoon.

Police respond around 3:30 pm at Craftsman Drive off Old Wake Forest to reports of multiple gunshots.

On the scene, a male victim was discovered with a gunshot wound and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

WRAL witnessed, a young man, shirtless in pajama pants, being handcuffed. Not clear if the person has connections to the shooting.

A gun store owner, who has a business in the shopping center, witnessed the incident and spoke with WRAL.

He says four gentlemen were waiting for an Uber in the parking lot. A car pulled up, which was not the Uber and both parties exchanged words, then shots were fired.

Several shell casings were seen in the roadway and crime scene tape surrounded part of the shopping center's parking lot.

One witness told WRAL she heard the gunshots.

Broadcastify 911 audio captures officers saying the victim was a 16-year-old found on the side of the building near the woods.
