Police: One killed in Durham as men exchange gunfire

A man was shot and killed in Durham on Sunday night as he exchanged gunfire with another man, police said.

DURHAM, N.C. — A man was shot and killed in Durham on Sunday night as he exchanged gunfire with another man, police said.

Officers were dispatched to a reported gunshot wound in the 1100 block of Hoover Road shortly after 8:30 p.m. and found two men with gunshot wounds, police said.

Both men were taken to a local hospital, where Dwayne Wilson Jr., 32, of Durham, died. A 29-year-old Durham man, whose name hasn't been released, suffered wounds that don't appear to be life-threatening, police said.

Preliminary information indicates the men were shooting at each other, police said.

No charges have been filed, and no other details have been released.
