FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are searching for three men who stole cash and cigarettes from a convenience store Sunday morning.

Authorities said two men entered Murphy’s Express in the 2800 block of Gillespie Street at about 6:35 a.m. while a third person remained outside the store near a vehicle.

Police said the men inside the store demanded money at gunpoint and stole cigarettes and cigars before fleeing the scene in the vehicle waiting outside.

The vehicle, which had been reported stolen in Lumberton, was later located a short distance from the scene, police said.

Police said one man is described as being black with brown eyes, short dreadlocks and a stocky build. He is in his early 20s, 5 feet, 11 inches tall and was wearing a gray hoodie, dark pants and purple shoes, according to authorities.

The second man is described as being black with a thin build and dreadlocks that extended to his jawline. He is in his early 20s, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and was wearing an orange hoodie and gray athletic shorts, police said.

The man who waiting by the vehicle is described as being black with a medium build and low-cut hair. He is in his early 20s and was wearing a white T-shirt with an unknown design on it and dark jeans.
