Police: Man shot in face at Fayetteville nightclub

A 34-year-old man was shot in the face at a Fayetteville nightclub Saturday night, police said Sunday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 34-year-old man was shot in the face at a Fayetteville nightclub early Saturday morning, police said Sunday.
Michael Whitlock was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and then transferred to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, where he was listed in stable condition Sunday evening. Officers were dispatched to Upscale Restaurant and Lounge, at 225 S. Eastern Boulevard, at about 2:30 a.m., in response to a shooting. They said that a disturbance began inside the club and that a suspect opened fire near the entrance. Whitlock was the only person injured. Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 910-483-TIPS.
