FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are trying to identify a man they say has robbed six convenience stores at gunpoint in the past 48 hours.

In each case, investigators say, a short, thin Hispanic or Indian man with a mustache and pointed goatee used a handgun to demand money from clerks at the following stores and gas stations:

  • Short Stop, at 3400 Ramsey St., around 11:30 p.m. Saturday;
  • Kangaroo, at 1302 Robeson St., around 11:45 p.m. Saturday;
  • Kangaroo, at 2326 Owen Drive, shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday;
  • Kangaroo, 2410 Owen Drive, around 4:30 p.m. Sunday;
  • Short Stop, at 1960 Cedar Creek Road, shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday; and
  • Marathon, at 704 Country Club Drive, around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

The only thing that differed in each of the robberies was the clothing description. Police said they believe the robber is changing clothes between each crime.

He was caught on surveillance video in two of the hold-ups.

Anyone who recognizes the man or has any information in the robberies is asked to call police at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-TIPS.
