Police: Bragg soldier killed when shots fired into Fayetteville home

Authorities say a soldier assigned to Fort Bragg died early Friday after shots were fired into the living room of a home in southwest Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Authorities say a soldier assigned to Fort Bragg died early Friday after shots were fired into the living room of a home in southwest Fayetteville.

Officers responded to 2815 Coronada Parkway at about 5:30 a.m. after receiving a call about a shooting.

Investigators said the victim, 24-year-old Duane Derek Davis, was in the living room of the home when someone outside fired several shots into the home. Davis was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A second person inside the home at the time of the shooting was not injured, police said.
