Police: Man kidnapped from Raleigh home, forced to withdraw cash from bank

Raleigh police are investigating after a man was kidnapped from his home and forced to withdraw money.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are investigating after a man was kidnapped from his home and forced to withdraw money.

Authorities said Donnell Smith, 52, was assaulted by an unknown man inside his home just before 12 p.m. and placed in a vehicle occupied by another unknown man and two women.

Smith was then taken to a State Employee’s Credit Union at at 4262 Louisburg Road, where the suspects brought him inside and demanded that he withdraw cash.

Authorities said Smith was able to notify bank employees, who called Raleigh police.

The suspects left the bank before officers arrived, according to police.
