HOPE MILLS, N.C. — A man has been wandering Hope Mills neighborhoods, exposing himself and threatening residents with a gun, police Capt. Joel Acciardo said Thursday.

Authorities have heard from several residents of the Fairway Forest neighborhood who say they spotted a naked man in their yards.

Acciardo did not offer a specific description of the man but asked that residents who see suspicious activity call 911.

Police believe it was the same man who exposed himself and pointed a gun at a female jogger returning to her home on Old Railroad Way early April 1.

Then, he was described as a black man, about 30 years old, with brown eyes. He is skinny, stands 6 feet tall and weighs about 165 pounds. He was wearing a baseball hat, black shoes and black pants.
