RALEIGH, N.C. — A vehicle was stolen with a 4-month-old baby in the backseat at an apartment complex on Millsview Court in Raleigh Friday night.

Police said Friday they were responding to reports of a stolen SUV with a child inside.

On Saturday morning, police said they had charged Tony Antronie Elliott with felonious restraint, larceny of a motor vehicle and resisting a public officer.

Tony Antronie Elliott was charged in connection with stealing a car with a 4-month-old baby in Raleigh on Friday night.

The mother of the child told WRAL News on scene that she pulled into an apartment complex for a few minutes and left her white Mitsubishi Outlander running.

In the short time she was away from the car, a man jumped into the vehicle and drove away with her 4-month old baby still inside.

Raleigh police said officers observed the stolen vehicle in the 1500 block of Capital Boulevard and conducted a traffic stop. A suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The infant was unharmed and reunited with his mother.
