FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man has assaulted at least two women at a Fayetteville apartment complex this week, police said Thursday.

Officers were called to the Stone Ridge Apartment complex, off Bingham Drive, last Saturday and again Thursday after women reported being grabbed by an unknown man.

During each incident, the man was walking in the area before the assaults. He then approached the women as they walked through the complex and grabbed their behinds and genital areas, police said.

The man, who ran off when the women screamed for help, is described as in his mid- to late 20s and between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a surgical mask.

Investigators are trying to locate a third woman in the area who might have been assaulted but didn't report it to police.

Anyone with information about the assaults or who can identify the man is asked to call Detective Santana Frischbier with the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-366-7687 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-TIPS.
