DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a shooting that injured a man early Monday afternoon.

Details were scarce, but a spokeswoman for the Durham Police Department said the shooting happened just before 12:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Fayetteville Street.

The victim, who was on the sidewalk when he was shot, was taken to a local hospital, where he was being treated for what police described as serious injuries.

Investigators say someone fired shots from a gray car, but they provided no further information about the car.

It was also unclear Wednesday afternoon if anyone was in custody for the shooting.
