Father and son charged in fatal Henderson shooting

— Two people have been charged after a man was killed Saturday night in Henderson.

Authorities said shots were fired during an argument at about 10:38 p.m. in the 200 block of Gary Street.

Police said officers who responded to the scene found Jaylin Jones, 20, of Macon, with a gunshot wound. Jones died as a result of his injuries.

Scottie Lee Bates, 59, of Sims Avenue, and Scottie Lee Bates II, 21, of Stagecoach Road, have been charged with murder in connection with the shooting and were being held without bond.

They are scheduled to appear in court Monday.
