Police investigating attempted robbery at Durham bank

Durham police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who attempted to rob the BB&T on Hillandale Road Friday afternoon.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who attempted to rob the BB&T on Hillandale Road Friday afternoon. 

According to authorities, the man entered the bank, at 1855 Hillandale Road, at about 12:45 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money. The man said he had a weapon, but employees at the bank said they didn't see one. 

The man left the bank without taking anything and was last seen running from the area.
