Suspect arrested in armed robbery at Wake Forest dry cleaners, police say

Authorities said Thursday that a suspect was in custody in connection with the robbery of a Wake Forest dry cleaners, one of two armed robberies that were reported this week in the town.

WAKE FOREST, N.C. — Authorities said Thursday that a suspect was in custody in connection with the robbery of a Wake Forest dry cleaners, one of two armed robberies that were reported this week in the town.
Antonio Devonlee Diggs was arrested in connection with the robbery of a Wake Forest dry cleaners.

Antonio Devonlee Diggs, 18, of Youngsville, was arrested without incident at the Franklin County Courthouse, Wake Forest police said in a written statement. Diggs had been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

It was not immediately clear if his bond has been set.

A man with a knife walked into Triangle Dry Cleaners Wednesday night on Rogers Road around 6:20 p.m. and forced an employee to give him money, police said. The worker was not hurt.

That employee told police when she called 911 the suspect fled from the scene on foot.

This robbery is not related to another armed robbery that occurred on Sunday at the McDonald's on Forestville Road, according to the police.

Wake Forest police are still looking for both suspects and are asking anyone with information about either robbery is asked to call their department at 919-435-9610.
