Police investigating after Elon University student found dead in home on Saturday
Police are investigating after an Elon University student was found dead in a home on Saturday afternoon.
Posted — UpdatedBreslin Wiley, of Moseley Va., was found dead after officers responded to 216 Foster Drive to investigate the report of a deceased male at about 12:15 p.m., according to an Elon police press release.
Police have not released details surrounding Wiley's death.
Wiley was a junior at the school majoring in engineering physics and a member of the club baseball team, according to an email sent to students from Vice President for Student Life Jon Dooley.
"The loss of a classmate, friend and student is devastating to our community and reminds us that the life of each person in our community is precious. Elon's counseling staff and the chaplain's staff are available as we begin the grieving process," a portion of the email read.
Dooley said a gathering to honor Wiley is planned for 7 p.m. Sunday in the school's Numen Lumen Pavilion.
