75-year-old man charged in deadly stabbing at Raleigh apartment

Police and forensics teams surrounded a Raleigh neighborhood into the early hours of Monday morning.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 75-year-old man was charged with murder on Monday after a woman was stabbed to death at a Raleigh apartment.

Ralph Pope, Jr., 75, was taken into custody and charged with the murder of Wanda Anderson, 58.

Investigators said the two were in an argument when Pope stabbed Anderson, who died from her stab wounds.

The call came in around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night on Laodicia Drive, in the southeast part of the city.

The investigation is ongoing.
