Rocky Mount police identify victims from 3 weekend homicides

Officers with the Rocky Mount Police Department were investigating a fatal shooting Sunday evening on Union Street.

The Rocky Mount Police Department’s Homicide Unit made three arrests in the Union Street homicide that occurred on Sunday, Jan. 6.

Tracy Lamont Collins Jr, 18, Shymond Kiheem Williams, 17, and a 15-year-old have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Collins and Williams were taken to Nash County Jail and are being held without bond. the 15-year-old was taken to Wake County Juvenile Detention Center and is being held without bond.

Rocky Mount police are investigating their third homicide in the past 48 hours.

A man’s body was discovered Sunday around 4:40 p.m. after officers were called to Church and Union Streets because of a shot spot detection.

The man, identified as Mikell Lamar Sheridan, 20, died from a gunshot wound, police said.

Police used metal detectors and flash lights as they looked around the area for evidence, and officers focused specially on a bike that was left behind at the scene.

The men, identified as Kestler Rayo Bridgers, 31, and Torrey Tinell Hill,39, were found at ne end of the dead-end street near Bethlehem Baptist Church.

All three men lived in Rocky Mount.
