FOUR OAKS, N.C. — Police were investigating the death of a man found covered in blood early Wednesday at a Four Oaks apartment complex.

Officers were called to the Twin Oaks Apartments complex, on Allen Court, at about 1:30 a.m. to check on a report of a suspicious person, Police Chief Danny Toppings said. As they arrived, another 911 call came in about a man beating on an apartment door.

Police found a man on a door step covered in blood, and he was taken to WakeMed in Raleigh, where he was pronounced dead.

The man's name hasn't been released.

Toppings said investigators believe the death was the result of a domestic situation. Police were questioning someone in connection with the case, he said.
