Police investigate Charlotte's 21st murder of 2017

Charlotte police said a man was shot and killed early Friday morning, marking the city's 21st murder of the year.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte police said a man was shot and killed early Friday morning, marking the city's 21st murder of the year.

Officers responded to the shooting just before 2:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of Prospect Drive off West Sugar Creek Road, according to NBC affiliate WCNC. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors said two men started fighting around midnight, and police said the men eventually went inside where one was shot.
