Police were called to the restaurant, located at 2801 Guess Road, at 11:15 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, the victim told officers he was struck on the head with a blunt object while standing outside in the Bojangles parking lot. The man told police that the suspect had a weapon and demanded cash.

The male victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment. His condition was pending, but police said his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

Investigators said the robbery was not random.
