Police identify pedestrian killed in Fayetteville
Fayetteville police have identified a pedestrian struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday.
Posted — UpdatedFAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police have identified a pedestrian struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday.
Howard Leroy Brooks, 29, was hit by a 2007 Dodge vehicle as he crossed Bragg Boulevard, at Blue Street, around 2:40 a.m., police said.
Jason Alan Phillips, 27, of Oakview Drive, was charged with driving while impaired and driving with a revoked license in connection with the incident, police said. Phillips also has a prior DWI charge from 2006, according to state Department of Correction records.
Police were continuing to investigate the incident.
