Police ID Clinton man found dead

A friend called 911 after he found Bobby Revels, 58, deceased inside his home at 532 Maurice Pate Lane around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

CLINTON, N.C. — The Sampson County Sheriff’s Office identified the man found dead a mobile home in Clinton on Saturday morning as Bobby Revels, 58.

A friend called 911 after he found Revels deceased inside his home at 532 Maurice Pate Lane around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Deputies said the deceased man had traumatic head injuries. They are investigating the death as a homicide but would not comment on the cause of death until an autopsy has been completed.

Deputies spent Saturday afternoon collecting evidence and conducting interviews at the scene. Sampson County Medical Examiner Dr. Carl Barr conducted a preliminary review of the body.

Investigators did not have a suspect in the death.
